I like it, but it's got some issues. - the description is wrong: the neck is not 38mm at the nut, it's 42-43. - the nut is not glued in place. if you remove the strings, the nut can fall off. - the bridge is bad. the E string sounds dead. In fact only the G string sounds alright. I filed the gap in the saddle so the string sits better and it improved the sound a little, but eventually I replaced the bridge with a Gotoh 404BO C (the top 2 holes do not match, I fixed the bridge with only the bottom 5 screws, which is enough) - electronics are not great, I replaced them. New setup: Lollar Original P Bass single coil pickup (I filed the base plate a little too fit in the cavity), CTS 250k pots, 47nF capacitor. - the pickguard it's not very solid and if it breaks, I don't think there are replacements for it, it has a unique shape. But one can be built, I suppose. I think a chromed pickguard would look good. - the instrument is not listed on their website (sx-guitar.com). I find that odd. The good: - the instrument is beautiful to look at. the wood pattern is very nice. i like the hole in the body. I wanted to give 4 stars based on the look alone. - finish overall is good quality, attention to detail is very good. - neck is straight, frets seem good. - i like the neck shape, it's thin and comfortable to play. - i like the wheel truss rod, it's easy to setup the neck with it. - the tuners are surprisingly good. I won't change them unless they break.
