Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Plain Top Ebony Electric guitar

These exclusive Les Paul Standard 50s models are more subtle than those classic models with figured maple tops while still featuring vibrant sunburst finishes. Paying tribute to the Golden Era of Gibson, this guitar has all the features of a Les Paul that was made in the late 1950s, like a solid mahogany body, a solid maple cap, and two humbucking pickups. Crafted in Nashville, Tennessee, these guitars feature USA-made electronics, solid hardwoods, and classic design details that have stood the test of time.

Featuring a set of Burstbucker™ pickups, audio taper potentiometers, and Orange Drop™ capacitors, this Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s has the classic sounds of a Les Paul. A Burstbucker 1 pickup with an average DC resistance of 7.8k is mounted in the neck position, which supplies warm rhythm tones. In the bridge position sits a slightly higher-output Burstbucker 2 pickup for searing lead tones, measuring in with an average DC resistance of 8.4k. Both of these humbucker™ pickups are powered by Alnico 2 magnets and are unpotted, which harkens back to the original Patent Applied For humbuckers from the late 1950s. Audio taper potentiometers provide tones from zero to wide open and everywhere in between.

The neck features a rounded, 50s Vintage neck profile that harkens back to the late-1950s. Laid on top of the solid mahogany neck is a rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius ornated with trapezoid inlays. Medium Jumbo frets are utilized, which add a modern playing experience to a classic design. The fretboard features cream binding, which gives a smooth playing experience up and down the neck, seamlessly integrating the mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and all twenty-two frets.

The non-weight relieved mahogany body gives the guitar its signature sustain while producing a hefty tone. A solid maple cap that is carved to perfection is glued on top of the body, which is where the bridge, tailpiece, and pickups are all mounted. Single-ply binding is in place around the outer seam of the maple and mahogany, which frames the entire guitar for that classic Les Paul appearance. The finish is gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which will enable the guitar to age with grace as it is played throughout the years.
