I changed the ear pads primarily because the leather on the original ones started to fall apart. Although I read when buying new headphones that it is recommended to change the ear cups for better sound, I did not attach much importance to it. After replacing them easily, I have to admit that not only are they more comfortable, but the sound is a little better.
